Echocardiology
Advanced heart imaging using transthoracic and transesophageal echo.
Echocardiology training focuses on non-invasive cardiac ultrasound techniques to assess heart structure, function, and blood flow dynamics. Participants learn transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) and, optionally, transesophageal (TEE) scanning methods. Instruction includes 2D, M-mode, color flow, and spectral Doppler, covering measurements such as ejection fraction, valve function, wall motion, and cardiac chamber sizing. The course addresses congenital defects, pericardial effusions, and ischemic heart disease. Ideal for cardiologists, intensivists, and echo techs, this course builds confidence in acquiring and interpreting echocardiographic data to support diagnostics and treatment planning.
